Ideology

I have always been a Metalcore music fan since I was in high school. I drank myself into a frenzy with many friends over the years listening and attending the craziest mosh pits. After giving my life to the Lord I found the worship music and contemporary christian music doesn't really get me pumped about Christianity. Every Sunday and Wednesday having to endure many contemporary worship songs I started to imagine a church where we could jump around with various styles of music not just metalcore being my favorite genre of music it's also the most difficult to play without extremely talented musicians. The only play for any type of metal music is a place called Jerry's pizza or a straight bar full of old school classic rock alcoholics who get a kick out of punching the metalcore kids. (Old ideology, I've had enough of the alcohol scene being connected to metal music. I want to create an alcohol free place where we don't have to go to a bar to headbang and mosh with our friends every week.) We updated to include alcohol in our production. I'm just one person though with the heart to open a small church for the wild and reckless where we can worship God with the double bass pedal and screamo lyrics, but at the same time maintain our dignity as a respectable community in the city. I can probably get us a venue inside of a preexisting church building, but I feel that our audience would be too wild. I am willing to make this a reality with the state and get my license for like concessions and merchandise. I have a desire to make this a reality, but I can't do this alone. I can't just pay for the whole thing out of pocket. We need to work together find a leadership team, fund raise the money, and try to find a home. The question is how to roll the ball. I can't just gather 4 friends, call them leaders, and expect people to show up every Sunday and maybe Wednesday. It has to be a family movement with the scene. I'm not just opening another church, and I'm not trying to be a pastor. There are way cooler people than me that can lead a metalcore scene. I just want a Christian metalcore scene to have a home in California. A Christian metalcore band will get booed off stage in a bar full of atheists and satanists. I want to make sure that our spot lines up with Christian ideology so when the band shouts about Jesus we can shout along with them.
