Performance Rules

Please Read Before Contacting Us Please refrain from contacting the church if you don't want to get involved in ministry with us. I am going to spend the next couple of days writing out some rules and criteria for getting involved musically. If you need band members for your Christian metal band we will connect you with some new members, if you would like us to promote your band we will, and if you would like to have your band play at one of our outreaches we would be more than happy to have your band. I am happy to build you a Facebook page, a website, and pay for boosted posts and advertising before an event. Please refrain from contacting us if you do not want to be involved with us. I am willing to pay for real artists to produce Christian merch designs for your band, t-shirts, hats, logos, posters, and help build you a small following of fans. Please do not contact us if you do not any formal musical training. Make sure that you have at least 3 years of private lessons with your preferred instrument. As we don't want you to get laughed at during promotion. We need to make sure you can at least keep a drumbeat before we put you on a stage. If you do not have any musical talent we have plenty of people who would love to sit down with you and go over the basics of your instrument. Promotion Guidelines for the Metalcore Church 1. Make sure your lead singer has 4-10 songs of memorized lyrics. 2. Minimum performance in front of an audience needs to be 3-5 performances. 3. Each member in the band needs to have a minimum of 3 years of private lessons with their preferred instrument. (If you do not meet this requirement, we have people who are willing to sit down with you for a few sessions. We will be increasing the number of videos we have for instrument lessons.) 4. In order to uphold a Christian reputation among other musicians there is a no cussing/foul language policy. Too many violations will result in you being asked to step down from the band. 5. All lyrics must be submitted for approval. No cuss words in the lyric material unless the gospel revelation is in accordance with proper doctrine i.e. “SOB they scream!” Haste the Day referring to the rapture and those who are left behind. 6. 1 year of faithful church attendance needs to be accounted for by a pastor or elder of your church. A small note of your membership is fine if we get the phone number of the person who is over you. For stolen music equipment and whatnot. 7. In Teen Challenge the rule is the third phase to play instruments. So I need you to have 90 days clean and sober to be in the music ministry. A 90 day NA or AA chip will be fine if you are celebrating recovery have someone sign a note saying you have been attending for 3 months. If you do not have 90 days you can still be apart of the outreach and help set up and tear down at the events. 8. Submitting your band name to the church will involve a website being built and a Facebook page is made. Events involving your brand will be promoted to the entire city a small following will be developed for your band. Copyrighting your music prior to promotion is important to us. We will be using home recording equipment and uploading your songs to a SoundCloud account so you will hold the rights to your songs. If your band no longer wants to be connected with the church, I will log out of your SoundCloud account and text you to change the password. 9. Art and designs will be envisioned by an actual artist and be temporarily put up on your Page and website with the band name. I will be using Squarespace and Google for advertising. I also encourage you to have a backup phone with your band's Instagram account so when the show starts you can go live on the IG account behind the scenes type footage. If at any time the artwork is not sufficient you can change it at any time by contacting the church. It is like a premade folder so people can visit your website and make comments about the band. You will always have access to the pages and websites to make changes. Also, a Photographer will be present at events for band promotion. 10. Genre, this is the metalcore church we hope that you have at least 3/5 songs that incorporate the double bass pedal. We do not expect everyone to be able to sweep and shred on the guitar, but we do expect you to use the double bass pedal. If we wanted to hear the single pedal, we could just go to regular church. All subgenres of metal are welcome, but please refrain from contemporary alternative Christian, no acoustic worship, and please refrain from G, D, Am, Em progression without distortion. One of the main visions we have here is that everyone who reads this would create their own Metalcore church of "Your city" Facebook Page/business and connect with us so we can create a tour route for bands to travel between our cities. I wanted to change one of the rules for getting involved with us is the locals-only stanza. That in order to get the promotion from us you and your band need to be Bakersfield locals. If you are a local of a different City then I want you to start a page for Your home city. You don't have to have a building to be on the tour list if you have a house with a big back yard we want to play Christian metal, barbeque, and spend the night in your city.
