Wikipedia: A jester, court jester, or fool, was historically an entertainer during the medieval and Renaissance eras who was a member of the household of a nobleman or a monarch employed to entertain guests. Jesters were also itinerant performers who entertained common folk at fairs and town markets. Google Dictionary: a professional joker or “fool” at a medieval court, typically wearing a cap with bells on it and carrying a mock scepter. The idea has a very special meaning in my life and I believe it reins true in the lives of the sarcastic. A Jester was a guy who played the fool. Kings had Jesters in the courtrooms for being able to spill the truth of someone coming into the chamber with requests. Often exposing the true motives of traitors and swaying the king’s opinion. Turning serious situations and performing them as plays in the public squares. The Jester represents the woke and how we can identify phony believers in the faith. If God is always watching people always saying we are the fools. Pointing the finger at us without any spiritual gifts, and we are the ones who wouldn’t even be in the faith if God hadn’t called us out of darkness why rescue us when he has them on his team? I like the mock scepter for me it is all the people the church approve of who have made it okay to mock others, and I mock them to the King, God of Heaven whose son is Jesus Christ. Reminding God that His Word says having the approval of God is more valuable than having the approval of a pastor. Then as soon as the pastor isn’t looking their true self comes out. The Jester is full of jokes always having fun because the king’s favor protects him. The king thinks he is funny even if everyone in town thinks he is bad news. If someone were to come into the king’s chamber making a request the Jester shouts a jest reiterating the opposite of what was said and if the requester responds incorrectly the king can see the truth. He wishes for a grant, not a loan this man has no desire to pay you back. This man is not here to serve God he is here to gain a position in the church for personal gain. He has no intention of growing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ this man wants to get paid by the church.
